Sainsburys Returns Policy

Sainsbury’s returns policy is very friendly to the customer. The store accepts items within 28 days of their purchase. Customers can choose replacement or refund if they are displeased with any of the products save for a few items. Items can be returned and the refund done in less than a week. The policy is also fully in line with the Direct selling regulations which guide the customer’s choice. Customers can choose to have an item repaired, replaced or have their money back.

Packaging the item
Items should be returned in working and resalable condition. The original packaging should be undamaged and the original labels should be attached. Any accessories, parts and promotion items should also be included in the package.

Non-returnable items
Items that are made to order and those that are personalised cannot be returned. The same applies for items that are hygienically sensitive like jewellery and underwear. Other items for one reason or another include opened DVDs, games, and CDs, opened recording media like USB sticks, and opened ink cartridges, opened cameras and camcorders, headphones, mattresses, baby pushchairs and grooming items.

How to return Sainsbury items
Items can be returned within 28 days of receipt. A customer can use the royal mail to return small parcels. For larger items e.g. washing machines, notice of 48 hours has to be given. the customer can arrange for the item to be picked up by calling Sainsbury’s stores. Items bought online can also be returned to Sainsbury’s save for a select few.

Sainsbury Refunds
Funds are credited to the original card in 3-5 working days of the store’s receipt of the returned goods. An email is sent to the customer confirming the refund. In case of an in store return, the confirmation is also done in store. Promotional items should returned as a whole package otherwise the refund is proportional to the value of the item returned.
