Tesco Returns Policy
Tesco returns policy differs from product to product. This is due to the wide range of items that are in stock. Returns policy for books differs from that of jewellery, while of course there is no return policy for some items such as groceries. Tesco boasts of a quick turnaround in dealing with returns as they are using paperless invoicing and order tracking. When you make an order a number is generated which confirms your order and this number is the one that is used when you need to make a return.
For items to be returned to Tesco it has to be in its original form with all original labels and seals attached and intact. The despatch note that goes with the item should be ticked on the reason for a return. The despatch note should be peeled off and attached to the front of the package.
Non Returnable items
Some items cannot be returned for different reasons, unless they were faulty or malfunctioning at the time of purchase.
- Items directly related to hygiene and health for example underwear or jewellery
- Perishable items like groceries
- Items that were installed by Tesco technical team
Flat pack items that have been partially or fully assembled are also not returnable.
Returning items to Tesco
Items can be returned to any Tesco store with the accompanying confirmation email. Some items can only be returned to the store they were bought from for example items containing petrol and other items on the non-returnable list. For items that have to be returned to the original store, the order number has to be produced. Courier services can be used to send the item to be returned.
Tesco refund policy
Items can be returned in 28 days. For electricals and furniture the period is 45 days. Refunds are instantaneous if the customer declines replacement or repair.
